After waiting a long time for this game to release it finally came in November. Since then to now, New Super Mario Bros. Wii has sold over 10 million copies which, of course is a record for the fastest selling game. This is a very exciting game which will let you have lots of fun. New items that Mario can transform into are Propeller Mario, Ice Mario and Penguin mario. When you shoot the enemy with ice, you can then pick them up and throw them.
On a special day, Princess Peach's birthday, everybody is celebrating and she is about to open her presents but Koopalings pop out of the presents along with Bowser Jr. They kidnap princess peach and fly off to a castle. Everyone runs after them but they cannot catch the evil koopalings. This is when Mario, Luigi, and 2 toads go on an adventure to save princess peach.
New Super Mario Bros. Wii allows you to play with up to 4 players to complete levels together or verse in Coin Battle. The characters you can choose from are Mario, Luigi, and two Toads. Player 1 has to be mario while the others pick. Playing with friends or brothers and sisters is really a big part of this game because no this is the first mario game that allows you to play all at the same time which is very amazing. In the coin battle you have to head to the goal but collecting as many coins as you can. The player who collects the most coins will be declared the winner. In Free Mode you can pick any level you want to do and you can either work together to finish it or battle. When you complete a level on story mode, it will be unlocked in Free Mode. There a some that are already unlocked. Also in Co-Operative you can grab another player and throw them but watch out for enemies and pits. You can also jump on the player and if you jump at the right time, you jump higher than usual.
As you complete more levels, the levels get harder. The castles are the hardest levels in that world that you are up too. The last parts of the castle always require you to defeat bowsers minions. On the second castle, a Magikoopa will put some sort of spell on the items around you and it makes it slightly harder to deafeat your enemy. After you defeat them, Bowser Jr. takes peach to another castle with his ship. Also, on some worlds the last levels are in Bowser Jr's. Ship and you will have to defeat him. The Super Guide was also introduced in this game. If you fail a level 8 times, a green exclamation mark will appear. If you go to it, Luigi will do the level for you and at the end of the level it asks you if you would like to try the level yourself or skip it.
The game is much easier in Co-Operative mode but more of a challenge for solo mode. The game won't take long to finish. Once you have beaten King Bowser, there is another world that you encounter. There are no castles in these levels. To even attempt world 9 you have to have all of the big coins from the other worlds. For example, to attempt the first level you must have all of the big coins from world 1. Once you have fully completed the game, you can still enjoy it in Multiplayer fun and playing with your friends, completing levels that you used Super Guide in, or even doing levels that you can get "Endless 1Ups" on.
The Final Verdict
Gameplay 9.8/10 The gameplay is very good, offering new powerups and the game is pretty challenging on a few levels.
Graphics 9.2/10 The graphics are also good for a platform game.
Sound 8.7/10 The sound from the classics were alot better but this was still good.
Value 9.4/10 The game is worth it but is kind of short.
